Look Inside

meditation-handsYes, all the answers to life’s biggest questions lie within us. Yes, all the truths to our being can be found within the most subtle or unexpected thoughts of self and life, birth and death, or you and me. Yes, we need only look inside or come to ponder more of our world and us to discover the many pieces of the puzzle to our existence. Make those vital connections to the mind, body, heart, and soul that assure us, “We are of a divine mind in a sacred body with an eternal soul.”

Yet, when we are fearful, angry, or anxious in any way, we may not be able to recognize all that we truly are. When we are in so much pain that we forget we connect to perfection. When we are so financially frightened that we forget we connect to abundance. When we are so lost or confused that we forget we connect to wisdom. When we are so grief stricken that we forget we connect to unconditional love. When we are so caught up in the moment that we forget to connect to a greater power and presence. If only we would remember to look inside and connect to that which meets every need through both wisdom and love.

When I was grief stricken with the loss of my mother, I forgot to connect more fully to unconditional love. To my husband, to the newborn babe in my arms, and to all those in both flesh and spirit who have my best interest at heart. When I was financially frightened with the loss of my job, I forgot to connect more fully to abundance. To my family, friends, and even strangers or the kindness of others, to the natural world or many gifts of Mother Nature, and to the source of all creation itself or infinite creativity. When I was sitting in sadness and confusion over who I was and why I was here, I forgot to connect more fully to all the wisdom and love that not only surrounded me, but who also reached out to guide and support. When I was caught up in moments of human frailty, earthly experiences, or lower emotions, I forgot to connect more fully to a greater power and presence or to that which is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere or that flows through and around everyone and everything.

Once I began to question self and life, birth and death, or you and I, something unexpected occurred. Answers came. Once I began a quest for the truths to our existence, a spiritual quest, something miraculous occurred. Discoveries were found. Once I began to make those vital connections – to the mind, body, heart, and soul, something even greater occurred. Truth appeared. Yes, once I remembered who I truly was, everything changed and thankfully for the better, physically, financially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Did I change into a younger woman? No, I had been there before, but I felt more youthful. Did I become rich? No, but I was truly wealthier with even greater wisdom and love. Did I learn everything of our world and us? No, I simply remembered more of who I truly am, from where I came, and why I am here. Did I stop crying? No, but my tears are fewer and my heart much lighter and happier than ever before. Did I find my bliss or personal peace with self and life, birth and death, or you and me? Yes, I most certainly did.

To find our bliss or personal peace, we need only first begin to look inside or go within. To the truths to our being or who we truly are. To glimpses of something more or from where we came. To greater understandings of our world and us or why we are here. Only then will we begin to discover the many pieces of the puzzle to our existence. Only then will we more fully connect the mind, body, heart, and spirit. Make those vital connections that assure us, “We are of a divine mind in a sacred body with an eternal soul.”
