K.L. Nappier’s penchant for “not letting genre get in the way of a great story” has brought praise from readers and critics alike for her unique blends of thrillers, mysteries, and myth. Thought-provoking, but never preachy, her work combines rollicking, fast-paced action with themes that touch the soul.
Originally published by the Berkeley Publishing Group in the early 1990’s, Kathy’s dark fiction has won awards and been read by thousands. But it wasn’t until the era of internet publishing, when great writing and solid story-telling began standing on their own merits, that Kathy’s originality and style found their largest audience.
In the latter part of the 1990’s, Kathy and her husband “sold everything but the dog,” bought a sailing sloop and cruised the Caribbean for several years. When they returned to the U.S. in 2000 and settled in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Kathy began writing again.
By 2004, she had re-emerged on the literary scene with Full Wolf Moon. Part thriller, part horror, part spiritual philosophy and social commentary, Full Wolf Moon won multiple awards in the independent press industry and critical praise among the online independent critics’ circles. This eerily compelling tale became so popular, Kathy was urged to turn it into the Full Wolf Moon Trilogy. The second installment, Bitten, won critical praise and awards of its own. The third and final volume of the trilogy, Chosen, was released in October of 2014.
Along the way, Kathy has written the historical paranormal mystery Voyagers and contributed short stories to Double Dragon Publishing’s best selling anthology series Twisted Tails, as well as released Strange Eight, a compilation of her award winning short stories. With the Full Wolf Moon Trilogy now complete, she has her sights set on a Steampunk/science fiction novel and a high-concept contemporary fantasy adventure series.
Kathy rarely does public appearances these days so she can better focus on her writing. However, she is always happy to hear from readers, is very active on FaceBook and Twitter is open to a limited number of requests for appearances that keep her close to home in the Tampa Bay area.
If you are interested in contacting Kathy regarding appearances or just want to say “Hi,” you can write to her via her web site or message her via FaceBook or Twitter.
